Dylan's "Debut"
Dylan actually went for his first walk this past Saturday. In Japan, pet-owners traditionally wait for two weeks from the time of the second set of puppy vaccinations before letting the puppy outside/down on the ground; once the pup is out walking around, this is known as the dog's "sanpo debut" (walking debut). Well, it was a beautiful day and needless to say, it was a lot of fun accompanying Dylan on his first official walk around the neighborhood :))

ACLS--Go Boston!
Canceled cable tv earlier this year as we were never watching it...plus, with TWO Japanese players on the Red Sox roster it never occurred to me that NHK (terrestial, granted) WOULDN'T show the series AT ALL! Apparently NHK cable hasn't done a stellar job of showing the games anyway--thank goodness for ESPN's Gamecast!
Patience I
As Dylan is only 3 months and a bit, he's in a teething stage at the moment and is massively into chomping down on whatever he can. I finally got fed up with his biting the plants and the furniture and gave him a small treat to work out on. Of course I had to put him in his crate to keep him, or rather his treat, from Pepper (she got a small treat, too, but finished it VERY quickly!). Nevertheless, here's Pepper willing Dylan to drop the treat outside of his crate--as he's done in the past--so that she can snatch it up and eat it/chew on it for herself....
Dylan
Dylan is Pepper's half-brother--they have different dads but share the same mom (Samantha). He was born on July 8,2007 in a litter of four puppies, all of whom were male. He had an exceptionally good car-ride home, only throwing up a little bit when I hit the accelerator a bit too hard to get around an obnoxious car! Anyway, we're VERY happy he's finally here. Will try to post some baby photos of him later.
